Project Architect, Saranac Lake, NY
This position requires working at least three days per week in our office in Saranac Lake, NY.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Project Architect to efficiently and successfully lead, manage, and actively produce architectural work throughout all project phases — from Pre-Design through Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.  This position includes both project leadership and hands-on production of drawings, models, and technical documentation.    The Project Architect will confidently manage budgets, schedules, and design scope while facilitating clear, effective communication between clients, consultants, and internal project teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and produce architectural work across all project phases.

  • Create and coordinate drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation.

  • Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and design scope.

  • Coordinate effective communication among clients, consultants, and other team members.

  • Guide design and documentation efforts aligned with firm values and project goals.

  • Support an integrated design process rooted in sustainable, low-carbon building principles.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Professional degree in Architecture

  • Professional architecture license (or the ability to obtain)

  • 5-10 years of project management experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Collaborative, professional work ethic

  • Creative and innovative problem-solving abilities

  • High sense of self-efficacy and ability to drive project success

  • BIM modeling experience (Archicad preferred)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong interest in sustainable, high-performance, low-carbon design

  • Passive House Certification (CPHC or CPHD&C)

  • Experience with high-performance light wood construction

Compensation: 

Salary range is $80,000-$120,000 based on experience and ability to perform the job
